Rolls, the thing played over the toms , snare, and cymbols are used as a filler..that is when a drummer can articulate his drumming. Usually guitar leads and drums support then providing a count, then there is sustainence in guitar rolls come in picture..and it sounds damn good.

Choosing Drum Sticks

As said, it depends on the drummer and there is no well defined rules to how a drum stick should be. Each drummer feels comfortable with certain type of drum sticks. The tip, Shaft, shoulder and butt varies and so does the option of drummer. But few guide lines when followed will help choosing drum sticks

- sticks should be of equal weight
- sticks should be straight , try rolling them to find out if they are straight
- do not choose tip which have sharp (nearly sharp) edge. they might damage the leather on drums
- ppl prefer bit heavy drum sticks for rock and light sticks for county/light music. So the weight purely depends on the person who is playing and what he is playing.
- for beginners try selecting bit heavy sticks ..as and when you proceed you will learn what kind of stick you need.

And so does the bigshots have their own custom made drum sticks, with particular type of wood its made also..

Beat is the basic time unit of a piece, a metric.
4/4 is what I saw and wondered what it was about. All beats are laid out in this time signatures, simple and compound. This is what says that Read the music written next in this tone. It basically signifies the timing of the beats and number of beats in a bar. A converntion as used elsewhere.

To ppl have different speed of tapping a beat is fine, this is what determines tempo

so the bottom number in 4/4,3/4 is what is called beat. here we have 4 beats

Touching Snare Drums

Drum Kit is a kind of Percussion Instrument. Drum Kit as the name says is a kit of various drums and cymbols ('dissh' sound producer). Once such drum on which everyone jumps is the Snare drum. Snare drum is the most used as well, and so did I had to jump on it. All new drums use synthetic leather coating for the drum tops. Snares are set of spings attached at the bottom of the drum , which vibrates and produced the sharp sound.
